Ivana Damnjanović

Ivana Dam­njan­ović is a sus­tain­able and trans­form­a­tion­al travel expert, edu­cat­or, research­er, and exper­i­ence design­er, and is a co-own­er of the Tchardak Brew­ery in Valjevo, Serbia.

Dr Dam­njan­ovic pre­vi­ously served as head of edu­ca­tion and research at Trans­form­a­tion­al Travel Coun­cil and vice-dean for inter­na­tion­al cooper­a­tion at the Fac­ulty of Health and Busi­ness Stud­ies, Singidunum Uni­ver­sity, Ser­bia.

Ivana’s aca­dem­ic and pro­fes­sion­al interests encom­pass “vari­ous aspects of sus­tain­able tour­ism; impact­ful exper­i­ence design; the regen­er­at­ive and trans­form­a­tion­al poten­tial of travel exper­i­ence; des­tin­a­tion stew­ard­ship based on com­munity, nature, and trav­el­ler well­being; nature-based, adven­ture and recre­ation tour­ism; and storytelling”.

She describes her­self as a “zeal­ous advoc­ate for immers­ive and nar­rat­ive-rich edu­ca­tion­al exper­i­ences that res­on­ate with the themes of change-mak­ing, inten­tion­al­ity, and sus­tain­ab­il­ity that nur­ture tour­ism pro­fes­sion­als’ know­ledge, cre­ativ­ity, ded­ic­a­tion, mind­ful­ness and empathy”.

Ivana is a Glob­al Sus­tain­able Tour­ism Coun­cil mem­ber, former Plan­et Hap­pi­ness Ambas­sad­or, a Future of Tour­ism Coali­tion sig­nat­ory, and is act­ive in IUCN’s WCPA TAPAS Group.
