Caribbean Tourism sets students a sustainability challenge
Students will be challenged to present “well-researched, practical, and financially-viable sustainable tourism projects” at an event hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) next month.
CTO-USA Director Sylma Brown said: “Tourism education is a critical element of sustainability in the Caribbean and the CTO is committed to ensuring that the brightest and best lead the tourism industry into the future.”
Five schools will participate in the contest, which will take place in New York at the seventh annual Caribbean Students Colloquium, June 7.
Each member of the winning team will received complimentary registration to the 2017 Sustainable Tourism Conference in St. Kitts, a trophy, and the title of 2017 Student Colloquium Champion.
Brown said: “The Students Colloquium allows students to shine and share their best ideas and original case studies.”
The event is part of Caribbean Week New York (#CWNY17), June 4 – 10.
